As the summer break draws to a close, I would like to welcome you back for another year at Bismarck High School.  I look forward to meeting our new students and welcoming them, as well as our returning students, back for another great year at BHS.  Just a reminder: we will remain on a 4-day school week, with school held on Tuesday through Friday each week, from 7:35 to 4:06. I will cover this in greater detail during our annual open house.

Open house will take place on August 7th from 4:30 pm-6:30 pm.  I will be presenting a parent orientation at 5:00 for all of our underclassmen parents to explain the high school rules and procedures, as well as graduation requirements, smart core, and core curriculum plans, and the various programs and activities that will be available this year.  I will have a separate orientation for Seniors and Senior Parents at 5:30.

I know that most of you have either seen, or been made aware of the new state law concerning cell phones.  The “Bell to Bell No Cell” policy will be in place for the upcoming school year, and I will discuss that in detail during the parent meetings.     

I want to remind you again this year concerning the immunization laws.  ALL students are required by law to make sure all immunizations are current.  If you need further information concerning the required immunizations and possible immunizations that your child may need please visit with Nurse Willis. 

Again, I hope you have had a wonderful summer and are eager to return to school. We look forward to seeing you on August 7th at open house and August 12th as we begin another great year here at BHS.
